The Visitor Experience
A Compelling Visitor Experience
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a dynamic, new kind of museum – a Museum for stories and ideas. Artifacts will help tell the stories, but the focus of the Museum will be on issues past, present and future. The Museum’s content will be ever-changing and woven together by the world’s pre-eminent Master Exhibit Designer, Ralph Appelbaum and Associates.
Canada’s national and international contributions to human rights – including everyday heroes and heroines – will be told in vivid and inspiring ways. The Museum will also examine Canada’s less proud moments so that we can learn from them. Visitors will be challenged to confront issues of discrimination, exclusion and genocide. Through the use of technology, new media and theatre, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights will offer something unique and different with each visit.
Help Shape the Museum’s Content
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights has launched a process that will start identifying stories, controversies, discussions, and issues to be incorporated into the content of the Museum.
A Content Advisory Committee made up of human rights scholars, specialists, and leaders has been appointed to elicit relevant information from individuals, organizations, and groups. Read more about the public engagement process.
