The Canadian Museum for Human Rights

A Beacon of Hope, Understanding and Change

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be a powerful symbol of Canada's unwavering commitment to recognizing, promoting, and celebrating human rights. It will be the largest human rights centre in the world – an international symbol that will celebrate Canada as a country that is now one of the most inclusive and understanding in the world.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights has the potential to be one of Canada’s most significant contributions to promoting human rights here and around the world.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will examine world events and encourage action and vigilance around the globe. Yet it will be grounded in the Canadian experience – from our social history to Aboriginal concepts of peace and justice and the enshrinement of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms into our Constitution.

Most importantly, it will build a new generation of informed and impassioned human rights champions though a funded one-of-a-kind human rights program and experience for up to tens of thousands of students across Canada.
